PREREQUISITES: • In order to participate in this course you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. _________________________________________ PRECOURSE WORK: • Online Course must be completed prior to attending the in-person class. _________________________________________ IN-CLASS PORTION: • Skills Practice & Polish _________________________________________ WHAT IS THE INSTRUCTOR COURSE? • This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED courses. This includes: • Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED • Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED • Adult and Pediatric First Aid • Adult First Aid/CPR/AED • Adult CPR/AED • Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED • Pediatric CPR/AED • First Aid Additionally, the following optional skill boosts can be added to any course in the First Aid/CPR/AED program to provide additional training and certification: • Skill Boost: Asthma and Quick-Relief Medication Administration • Skill Boost: Administering Emergency Oxygen • Skill Boost: Anaphylaxis and Epinephrine Administration • Skill Boost: Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Administration • Skill Boost: Life-Threatening Bleeding and Tourniquet Application • Skill Boost: Injuries and Splinting ________________________________________
